Job description

At Nexus Engineering Group, our Project Schedulers keep complex engineering and construction projects on track from concept to commissioning. As a Project Scheduler on our Project Services team, you'll partner with Project Managers and Discipline Leads to build the schedules that drive on-time, on-budget delivery — and you'll have a direct line of sight into how your work shapes project outcomes.
What You'll Do
  • Build, maintain, and analyze integrated project schedules in Primavera P6, from front-end loading (FEL) and detailed design through construction and commissioning.
  • Establish project logic networks, baselines, forecasts, and schedule quality checks across your assigned projects.
  • Track earned value, run schedule variance analysis, and produce performance reports that give project leadership a clear read on trends.
  • Partner with Project Managers and Discipline Leads to gather progress updates and integrate schedule inputs.
  • Surface schedule risks early and present recovery options to project and functional leadership.
  • Contribute to lessons learned, standardization, and continuous improvement of scheduling tools and practices.
What You'll Bring (Required)
  • 5–10+ years of experience developing and maintaining engineering or construction project schedules (open to candidates outside this range with equivalent qualifications).
  • Hands-on Primavera P6 experience.
  • Working knowledge of earned value management, forecasting, and schedule performance metrics.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and deliver under pressure.
Nice to Have (Preferred)
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
  • PSP (Planning & Scheduling Professional) certification.
  • CCP (Certified Cost Professional) certification.
Working Conditions
  • Travel up to 25% for client and project site visits.
  • May include time at active construction sites; appropriate PPE will be provided.

Compensation for all candidates is determined based on experience, qualifications, skill set, certifications, work location, and market conditions.
