Job description

Company Summary:
Beacon is a successful and national behavioral health company providing residential-based services and supports to children and adults with Complex Behavioral Health conditions, Severe Mental Illness, Autism, and other compounding medical conditions. All activities related to this position must be delivered in compliance with the company's policies and procedures, accreditation standards, state and federal licensing requirements, HCBS guidelines, and the contractual requirements of Community Mental Health Agencies and other regulatory bodies. Position Summary:
The Front-End Developer will assist with building Beacon Signal, our internal Insights and AI web application. Signal is a practice management and clinical intelligence platform - not a static reporting tool - pulling live data from our EHR, HRIS, ATS, and CRM systems to surface actionable insights for clinical and operations leaders across the company.
This position will build the interfaces clinical directors, program managers, and executives use every day: KPI dashboards, risk scoring tools, compliance trackers, and AI-generated insight summaries.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities:
• Partner with our data engineers and AI engineers, building the front end for the pipelines and models they deliver.
• React-based front ends for dashboards, guided workflows, and admin tools within Beacon Signal.
• Node.js/JavaScript services (Azure Functions) supporting the front end.
• Integration with Cosmos DB-backed APIs and Entra ID authentication.
• Data-dense, visual interfaces (KPI gauges, tiered risk indicators, compliance scorecards) - clarity and information density over decoration.
• Help Create a Data Driven Workflow to drive response to data indicators and triggers.
• AI-powered features: summarization views, insight surfacing, and interfaces that consume outputs from our AI/RPA layer.

Education and Qualifications:
• Bachelors' degree in Information Technology preferred.
• Solid production experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and Node.js
• Git-based workflow experience (GitHub, CI/CD pipelines)
• Must pass criminal background checks, central registry check (in applicable states) and child abuse registry (in applicable states).
• Must complete and pass a drug test, in applicable states.
• Must possess a valid Driver's License and have reliable transportation.
• Proficient in speaking, reading and writing the English language.
• Approved by state, federal and government entities to work within BSLS programs.
• Ability to use office equipment, including BSLS information technology systems.
Skills and Abilities:
• Comfort building data-heavy UIs (tables, charts, dashboards) that are fast and legible.
• Experience using AI coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, ChatGPT) as part of your regular development workflow - we want people who use AI to move faster, not people learning to use it for the first time.
• Ability to work from a spec and ship independently; we value finished, working deliverables over lengthy discovery cycles.
• Experience with Azure Static Web Apps, Azure Functions, or Cosmos DB.
• Exposure to healthcare, human services, or compliance-heavy industries.
• Experience building AI-assisted or AI-summarization features into a product (not just using AI tools to write code but building features that call LLM APIs).
• Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID / SSO integration.
