Job description

Seeking a dedicated and proactive Dispatcher and Customer Service Representative to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for dispatching loads from and to the NY/NJ Ports and providing exceptional support to our clients in the transportation sector. The candidate Must have working knowledge of the port of NY/NJ Systems for scheduling appointments and working with drivers to dispatch customer loads. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to navigate various transportation management systems effectively. The Dispatcher will play a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining efficient operations. Computer skills are a must.


Responsibilities:


  • Respond to customer inquiries via phone and email, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
  • Utilize ITA Dispatch and the NY/NJ Port Systems to schedule and manage customer requests and data.
  • Assist in transportation planning and fleet management tasks, ensuring timely delivery of services working with a fleet of carriers.
  • Generate customer bills to ensure the time influx of account receivables.
  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding their needs, providing solutions and support as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and transactions within transportation management systems.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance customer service delivery.
  • Utilize tools to assist in route planning and logistics coordination.
  • Type efficiently to document communications and update client information promptly.


Experience


Previous Experience in dispatching containers from and to the NY/NJ Ports in a customer service role is a must, within the transportation/logistics industry.


Familiarity with transportation management systems is preferred; experience with ITS Dispatch is a plus but experience with NY/NJ Port Systems is a MUST.


Knowledge of fleet management principles and transportation planning processes.


Proficiency using phone systems for effective communication.


Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and transactions within the transportation Systems


Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance customer service delivery.


Utilize tools to assist in route planning and logistics coordination.


Type efficiently to document communications and update client information promptly.
