Job description

The Fitness Equation is seeking an Assistant Fitness Director. The Assistant Fitness Director reports to the Fitness Director and assists in building, developing, and leading a team of skilled Personal Trainers and Customer Service Associates to improve the lives of members.

Responsibilities:

  • Build, lead, and develop a team of skilled, successful Personal Trainers
  • Oversee and provide support on trainer’s service appointments and interactions with members during fitness assessments, training sessions, floor support, etc.
  • Advise trainers on ways to help members achieve their fitness goals.
  • Develop group and individualized exercise programs consistent with our members’ fitness and exercise goals.
  • Continually monitor and assist members to ensure proper form is used when performing exercises.
  • Ensure facility cleanliness and tidiness by ensuring Customer Service Associate staff and Trainers take responsibility in facility and equipment maintenance.
  • Responsible for achieving monthly revenue goal established by senior management.
  • Partner with membership, group exercise, and Kidz Gym departments to help new members achieve their fitness goals.
  • Initiate and create friendly relationships with members, guests and staff.
  • Recruit, hire and develop successful personal training staff per company expectations.
  • Conduct FitEQ (TFE fitness assessment), Personal Training, and Group Personal Training sessions, and create appropriate fitness programs for members.
  • Create revenue projections for programs and activities and manage expenses.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold an active CPR / AED certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Fitness management experience in a commercial fitness center with demonstrated success rate.
  • A current nationally accredited personal training certification (example: ACE, AFAA, ACSM, NASM, or NSPA) OR a college degree in exercise related field
