Job Purpose
Quality Inspector III
Location: Libertyville, IL
Shift: 7:00 AM-3:30 PM
Salary: Starting at $30 HR, based on experience

We are seeking an experienced Quality Inspector III to ensure the dimensional accuracy and quality of precision components. The ideal candidate has a strong working knowledge of measurement techniques, GD&T, and inspection equipment, and can work independently to evaluate products and report results. This role supports manufacturing and production teams by verifying product conformity and maintaining documentation in compliance with company and industry standards.
Principal Accountabilities
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform inspections using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, optical comparators, gauge pins, and gauge blocks.
  • Apply GD&T principles to complete inspection activities accurately.
  • Program and operate CMMs (Coordinate Measuring Machines) and video measurement equipment; interpret results and determine product conformity.
  • Document nonconforming product according to company directives.
  • Summarize quality control data and report results to management.
  • Conduct AS9102 First Article Inspections (FAIs) and complete related documentation.
  • Apply basic statistical techniques for measurement data evaluation and trending.
  • Maintain effective communication with production teams, leveraging a basic understanding of machining processes to provide actionable insights.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge / Skills / Experience
  • 5-10 years of experience in quality control, metrology, or a related field.
  • CMM programming or editing experience required.
  • Strong working knowledge of metrology, measurement techniques, and precision inspection tools.
  • Experience with GD&T interpretation and application.
  • Familiarity with AS9102 FAI requirements.
  • Prior experience in aerospace, defense, or high-precision manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

The salary range for this position starts at $30.00, based on experience. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
