Job description

Cable Connections is seeking an experienced Machine Operator to support the setup, operation, troubleshooting, and quality assurance of crimping processes used in wire harness and electro-mechanical assembly manufacturing. This role serves as the primary technical resource for crimping operations, ensuring all products meet IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards and customer specifications.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate crimping equipment, tooling, applicators, and terminals according to product specifications.

  • Validate machine setups and support first article inspections and process verification.

  • Perform crimp height measurements, pull testing, and visual inspections.

  • Ensure compliance with IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class II/III standards and customer requirements.

  • Troubleshoot crimp defects, tooling issues, and equipment performance problems.

  • Participate in root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Analyze production and quality data to improve process performance.

  • Read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.

  • Support documentation updates, new product introductions, and manufacturing process improvements.

  • Provide technical support to production teams and assist with wire harness, cable, and electro-mechanical assembly as needed.

QualificationsRequired
  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing, assembly, machine operation, or related experience.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

  • Ability to read and follow technical instructions, diagrams, and specifications.

Preferred
  • Experience in wire harness, cable assembly, or electronics manufacturing.

  • Familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards.

  • Experience with pull testing, crimp height analysis, and crimp quality inspection.

  • Experience setting up or programming manufacturing equipment.
