Job description

Graco manufactures and markets premium equipment to move, measure, control, dispense and spray a wide variety of fluid and powder materials. What does that mean? Well, we pump peanut butter into your jar, and the oil in your car. We glue the soles of your shoes, the glass in your windows and the screen on your phone. We spray the finish on your vehicle, coatings on your pills, the paint on your house and texture on your walls. Graco is part of your daily life.

Job Purpose

Conducts quality inspections under minimal supervision for particular areas or products to ensure they fulfill given quality standards and workmanship criteria. Monitors and records inconsistencies during quality inspections and recommends necessary changes to improve quality for rejected or defective products or materials.

What You Will Do at Graco

  • Quality Standards, Root Cause and Continuous Improvement
    • Ensure application of required quality standards and workmanship criteria for in-process/floor inspection, product verification, and incoming inspection/first article areas.
    • Assist in root cause analysis for process or product related concerns.
  • Manufacturing Support, Analysis and Audits
    • Conduct quality inspections for particular areas or products with minimal supervision
    • Support manufacturing in resolution of day-to-day issues, as needed.
    • Assist in supporting continuous improvement activities to enhance quality within Graco manufacturing operations.
    • Work to identify trends for rejected or defective products or materials.
    • Assist in the calibration of gages and equipment necessary to support quality.
    • Perform necessary inspection of all quality related equipment to include operation, purchase and possible repair.
    • Follow established practices and procedures in the performance of normal job functions.
  • Project Documentation and Reporting
    • Document any inconsistencies observed during quality inspections for product or material verification.
    • Conduct first article audits, including creation of audits finding reports and working with responsible parties to determine proper resolution.
    • Create internal and supplier related Non-conforming Material Reports (NMR).

What You Will Bring to Graco

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of a 18 month machining certification or a completed 2 year technical program in quality or related education or ASQ Mechanical Inspector Certification or ASQ Quality Technician Certification.
    • May be considered without above requirements if candidate has 8+ years of experience in manufacturing where they have worked with measurement equipment, have read blue prints, and have participated in process improvements.
  • Must have completed some type of basic math, blue print and measurement course.
  • 0-2 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment in a machining or quality role with demonstrated ability to produce results.

Graco Quality Checklists must be completed before promotion to the next level (Quality Inspector II).

The base pay range for this position is listed below, exclusive of fringe benefits or other compensation. If you are hired, your final base hourly rate will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, competencies, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors, we will also consider internal equity of our current employees. Please keep in mind that the range provided is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at or near the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth.
