Job description

Div. 8 Duluth, GA

Summary

Responsible for assisting fire alarm technicians with the installation, testing, inspection, and maintenance of fire alarm and life safety systems; this entry-level role provides hands-on training and exposure to fire alarm systems while supporting safe, efficient, and code-compliant work in the field.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist technicians with installation of fire alarm devices, wiring, conduit, and equipment.
  • Support testing and inspection of fire alarm systems under supervision.
  • Help identify and document deficiencies or issues discovered during service or inspections.
  • Load, unload, and organize tools, materials, and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe job site in accordance with company and OSHA safety standards.
  • Follow project instructions, drawings, and safety procedures.
  • Assist with system troubleshooting as skills develop.
  • Participate in required safety meetings and training.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma and prior construction or electrical experience a plus but not required; basic mechanical or electrical aptitude preferred; ability to obtain required licenses or certifications (as applicable).

Computer Skills 

Microsoft, word and basic computer skills.

Physical Demands

Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces; ability to work at heights and on active construction sites; ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs; field-based role at commercial and industrial job sites; exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, and construction environments; overtime may be required.
