Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Fire Alarm/Security Systems Service Technician to join our dynamic team. The Fire Alarm/Security Systems Service Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing non-functional solutions, installing, programming or configuring, inspecting or provide general customer service on security systems including Fire Alarm, video, access control, intrusion detection, gates and other electronic security devices.
Responsibilities:
  • Installation:
    • Install and configure fire/ security systems including video cameras, access control panels, intrusion detection sensors, gates and other electronic security devices, following manufacturer specifications and industry best practices.
    • Install and program control panels and all other equipment for fire alarm systems with the guidance of building plans and electrical layouts.
    • Mount sensors at appropriate locations, performing all necessary tasks, such as drilling holes for cabling and accessing locations such as crawlspaces or attics to ensure optimal wiring layouts.
    • Install all wiring to connect system components, complying with all applicable safety standards and with customer’s concerns or preferences.
  • Programming:
    • Program and customize security systems to meet the specific needs and requirements of our customers, including setting up user permissions, alarm thresholds, and notification preferences.
  • Maintenance:
    • Perform routine maintenance checks and inspections on fire alarm amp; security systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability, including, cleaning, testing, and replacing components as needed.
  • Troubleshooting:
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with fire alarm amp; security systems, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions to restore functionality and minimize downtime.
    • Identify and repair malfunctions in system components or wiring, including ordering and installing replacement parts as necessary.
    • Compose and submit documentation and reports for each installation or repair visit, complying with company’s standard operating procedure.
  • Upgrades and Expansions:
    • Assist customers with system upgrades, expansions, and enhancements, including adding new devices, integrating with the third-party systems, and implementing advanced features and functionalities.
  • Customer Service:
    • Provide exceptional customer service and technical support to our growing list of customers, including responding to service calls, addressing inquiries, and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate records of installations, configurations, maintenance activities, and repairs performed on security systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in servicing, installation, maintenance, and repair of fire alarms and security systems, including video, access control, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Kentucky Fire Alarm/Detection License or NICET II.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship and customer service.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, colleagues, and vendors.
  • Experienced in using Salesforce preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to climb ladders, use lifts, and work at various heights.
  • Able to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and crouching throughout the workday.
  • Must have good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling small components and tools.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces or outdoor environments as needed.
  • Requires occasional pushing, pulling, and reaching overhead.
  • Must be able to wear and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Capable of driving company vehicles and transporting equipment or materials when needed.
  • Ability to remain alert and focused while performing detailed or repetitive tasks.
