Financial Planner (CFP) - Cochrane-IFS

At Raymond James, we develop, we collaborate, we decide, we deliver, and we improve together.

Raymond James Ltd. is one of Canada's leading independent investment dealers, offering high-quality investment products and services to Canadians seeking customized wealth management solutions.

How does the role impact the organization?

If you are passionate about helping people make informed financial decisions, this may be the role for you.

We are seeking a Financial Planner who thrives on developing thoughtful, goals-based financial plans for an established client base. Working closely with Financial Advisors, you will help clients prepare for retirement, optimize tax strategies, and make confident long-term financial decisions.

As part of our wealth management team, you will provide comprehensive financial planning services and collaborate with specialists in tax, insurance, trusts, estates, and investments. At the end of the day, our goal is simple: to provide exceptional service to our clients while supporting one another as a team.

What You'll Do:

Client Planning & Advice

Develop clear, customized financial plans tailored to each client's goals and objectives.

Lead discovery conversations to gain a thorough understanding of clients' financial circumstances, priorities, and long-term aspirations.

Prepare projections, cash-flow analyses, retirement scenarios, and concise planning summaries.

Present financial plans in a clear and understandable manner, helping clients make informed decisions with confidence.

Provide ongoing plan updates as clients' circumstances and goals evolve.

Participate in annual review meetings as a secondary planning resource.

Respond to client inquiries related to financial planning.

Integrated Wealth Management

Integrate tax, retirement, investment, estate, cash management, and insurance planning strategies into comprehensive client recommendations.

Identify opportunities related to CPP/OAS optimization, RRIF conversions, tax efficiency, and corporate planning.

Collaborate closely with internal specialists across tax, insurance, trust, estate, and philanthropic planning.

Coordinate follow-up activities to help ensure planning recommendations are implemented effectively.

Relationships & Business Growth

Build trusted, long-term relationships with clients and Financial Advisors.

Champion the value of financial planning throughout the branch.

Identify opportunities to deepen existing client relationships and support organic business growth.

Collaborate with external professionals when appropriate.

Professional Practice & Leadership

Maintain the highest standards of ethics, professionalism, confidentiality, and client service.

Remain current on financial planning trends, tax legislation, and regulatory developments.

Serve as a key financial planning resource within the branch.

Participate in client events, workshops, webinars, and educational initiatives as required.

Contribute to a collaborative, supportive, and continuously improving team environment.

What can you expect from us?

Our most important investment is in our people.

Upon eligibility, Raymond James Ltd. offers flexible workstyles, a competitive compensation and benefits package, Paid Time Off, Volunteer Days, discretionary bonuses, tuition reimbursement, and much more. We also support internal career development, professional growth, and community involvement.

What You Bring:

Required Qualifications

CFP, QAFP, RFP or Pl. Fin (in QC), (in good standing)

At least 2 years of experience working in the financial industry, preferably as a financial planner but also as an associate advisor or assistant.

Strong knowledge of retirement, tax, estate, and cash-flow planning.

Confidence in presenting and explaining complex planning concepts clearly and effectively.

Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team   environment.

Strong organizational, analytical, judgment, and time-management skills.

Nice to Have:

Experience with financial planning software such as Conquest or RazorPlan.

Exposure to corporate planning and trust structures.

Previous experience supporting advisors with financial planning strategies.

What We Offer:

         Competitive salary plus performance-based incentives.

         Comprehensive health and wellness benefits.

Tuition reimbursement and support for ongoing professional development.

A collaborative, people-first culture with opportunities for career growth.

The opportunity to join a dynamic and growing team focused on becoming a premier family office in Western Canada.

We encourage our associates at all levels to:

Grow professionally and inspire others to do the same.

Work collaboratively to achieve meaningful outcomes.

Make thoughtful, pragmatic decisions with the client at the forefront.

Take ownership and hold themselves and others accountable for results.

Contribute to the continuous evolution and growth of the firm.

Salary Range: $75,000-90,000 annually, in addition to competitive performance-based incentives.
