Job description

Adecco is hiring for Assistant Press Operators in Macedon, NY. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with a leading and innovative manufacturing company committed to delivering high-quality products. Available Shifts (12 hour):

  • Morning Shift: 7:00am – 7:00pm ($19.00/hour)

  • Afternoon Shift: 7:00pm – 7:00am ($21.50/hour)

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret/compare traveler and artwork to ensure production will meet specifications.

  • Obtain necessary inks from inventory, return unused inks based on traveler and schedule.

  • Check Ink viscosities, maintain/adjust Inks to meet visual specifications.

  • Wash down inking stations with minimal downtime and waste.

  • Splice roll procedure.

  • Assist Press Operator with Changeover (safely run flushes, change inks, change dr. blades, etc.)

  • Perform basic film & print quality checks. Notify Operator of any discrepancies.

  • Select correct film - Gauge/Width

  • Trained in LOTO and starting/stopping press.

  • Assist in loading/removing plain or printed film using hoisting equipment safely.

  • Check the treatment of mill roll, load & unload roll properly

  • Perform housekeeping to maintain a clean, safe work area.

  • Consistently meets Safety, Quality and Production targets on all equipment.

  • Performs all quality checks and fills out required QA and Production Paperwork as needed.

  • Adjusts inks for color and viscosity.

  • Demonstrates understanding of different types of inks and their usage.

  • Identifies and corrects basic operational issues with the inking and roll handling systems.

  • Demounts and returns plates/sleeves to Pre-Press Department.

  • Uses defect detection systems to identify issues and notifies operator.

  • Assists in threading printing press.

  • Creates inventory control tickets in DSI.

  • Performs very basic operation of line under emergency situations.

  • Maintains high level of Housekeeping in work area.

  • Trains others of lower levels.

  • Successfully works with teams and team members to achieve department goals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of the manufacturing processes, and machinery.

  • Able to pass color perception test.

  • Demonstrate proper body mechanics and safe lifting.

  • Able to use pertinent Quality Tools.

  • Able to assist on all presses within the department.

  • Basic knowledge of the manufacturing processes, and machinery.

  • Capable of, and commit to follow the plant and departmental safety procedures, food safety guidelines and ISO procedure

  • Good communication and organizational skills

  • Good mathematical skills.

  • Continuous learning will be expected

Pay Details: $19.00 to $21.50 per hour
