Description
FOOTBALL ASSISTANT COACH: Timpview High School is seeking a positive, energetic, and knowledgeable Assistant Football Coach to support the Head Coach in developing a competitive basketball program that emphasizes character, sportsmanship, teamwork, academic excellence, and skill development. The assistant coach will help create a positive experience for student-athletes while representing Timpview High School and Provo City School District with professionalism and integrity.
  • Assist the Head Coach in planning and conducting practices that teach football fundamentals, advanced skills, and game strategies.
  • Help develop student-athletes both on and off the field by promoting leadership, accountability, discipline, and good sportsmanship.
  • Instruct players in offensive and defensive techniques, conditioning, and individual skill development.
  • Assist with game preparation, scouting opponents, film review, and strategy implementation.
  • Supervise athletes during practices, games, tournaments, team travel, and other team activities.
  • Foster a positive team culture that supports academic success, respect, and personal growth.
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, school staff, officials, and the community.
  • Assist with organizing team events, camps, fundraising activities, and offseason development opportunities.
  • Help manage equipment, uniforms, and inventory.
  • Ensure compliance with Provo City School District policies and Utah High School Activities Association (UHSAA) rules and regulations.
  • Promote student safety by following proper training techniques and injury prevention practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and Athletic Director.

Qualifications
  • Previous football playing and/or coaching experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of football fundamentals, strategies, and player development.
  • Ability to motivate, mentor, and communicate effectively with high school students.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with coaches, administrators, parents, and community members.
  • Commitment to maintaining high ethical standards and modeling positive behavior.
  • Must successfully complete all district hiring requirements, background checks, and required certifications and trainings.
