We are looking for a dependable Legal Assistant to support attorneys and office operations. This contract position is well suited for an organized administrative team member who can keep pace in a busy law firm setting while producing accurate, high-quality work. The role centers on document preparation, dictation transcription, scheduling coordination, and day-to-day office support. Candidates who are proactive, detail-focused, and comfortable managing multiple tasks independently will be successful in this position.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare, revise, and format letters, legal paperwork, and other written materials with a high level of accuracy and care.
• Transcribe recorded attorney dictation promptly and carefully, ensuring completed documents are clear, complete, and properly formatted.
• Coordinate calendars, meetings, and appointments for attorneys and staff to help maintain an efficient daily schedule.
• Handle incoming and outgoing mail, distributing materials appropriately and supporting timely correspondence.
• Organize and maintain both digital and paper files so records remain accessible, current, and well ordered.
• Enter information into office systems and assist with document tracking, filing, and records management tasks.
• Provide general administrative and office support, including answering inbound calls and supporting routine office operations.
• Assist attorneys and team members with additional clerical projects and priority assignments as business needs change.• At least 2 years of experience in a Legal Assistant, Legal Secretary, Executive Assistant, or Administrative Assistant role.
• Prior work within a law firm or legal office environment is strongly preferred.
• Strong typing ability with demonstrated experience transcribing dictation accurately and efficiently.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Excellent organizational skills with close attention to detail and document accuracy.
• Ability to balance multiple responsibilities effectively in a fast-paced office.
• Dependable work habits, punctuality, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
