Job description

Rogers Group is currently seeking an Experienced Finish Grade Excavator Operator in the Huntsville, AL area of the Alabama SMA, reporting to the Area Construction Manager. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to lead safety, quality, and revenue generation throughout our existing operations and additional operations through growth. 

Job Details:

  • Wages based on verifiable experience

Job Responsibilities:

  • Operate a Track Hoe to complete all required operation tasks.

  • Operate equipment with a high degree of competency, skill and proficiency and in challenging and unique terrain environments.

  • Perform servicing and maintenance of equipment as trained and directed by management.

  • Perform daily pre-and post- inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.

  • Effective communication skills applicable to position.

  • Properly follow all company policies and OSHA/MSHA/Environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment. Uncompromising focus on safety excellence.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a track hoe as a finish grade operator is required.

  • Must be able to read commercial grade.

  • Ability to utilize GPS for grading applications is preferred.

  • Previous experience operating other pieces of heavy construction equipment is preferred.

  • Ability to distinguish and understand signals.

  • Ability to read and understand grade and maintain grade.

  • Ability to use both hands and feet at the same time.

  • Ability to work in an environment with noise levels that may require hearing protection.

  • Must be able to hear and understand commands from supervisors, warnings from fellow workers, and alarms on equipment.

  • Ability to crawl and climb on, over, under and inside construction equipment.

  • Lift and carry objects and materials of various weights up to 70 pounds.

  • Good vision, both close-up and long-distance, and ability to look forward, side to side, and toward the rear of equipment.

  • Must have good reliable transportation to make it to and from work.

  • Self-motivated individual - must be able to perform required duties independently, without constant supervision.

  • Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and extended hours as needed.

  • Must be able to work outside in all types of weather and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.

  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
