Think Tank Outreach Assistant
Position Description
BSU's Think Tank is a maker space facility where students can engage in hands-on projects, utilizing a wide array of technologies and tools, including 3D printing, microcontrollers, robots, small electronics, and prototyping machines.
The Think Tank Outreach Student Assistant will assist in the administration of school visits taking place in the Think Tank. During this experience, the Student Assistant will help educators in teaching hands-on modules to visiting middle and high school students.
Duties may include:
  • preparation and cleanup of materials used during Think Tank school visits
  • assist with instruction, demonstration, and hands-on activities during middle and high school visits to the Think Tank

Think Tank Outreach Assistants must be available on Fridays
  • Additional days of the week may also be scheduled
  • Hours vary according to the schedule of the school visiting.

Please note: Your scheduled hours may be altered due to reduced work load. We cannot guarantee hours each week.
Eligibility requirements:
Must be a Bridgewater State University undergraduate student registered for a minimum of six credits for the Fall 2026 semester.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Personable, friendly, able to work with and tutor others
  • Passion for tinkering and building things
  • Able to work and learn independently
  • Experience using CNCs, Milling Machines, Lathes, 3D printers, Laser Cutters
  • Familiarity with CAD, CAM, Fusion, 3D printing software
  • Familiarity with computer programming
  • Experience working with middle and high school students or interest in working with this audience
  • Attention to detail
  • Reliability

Physical Demands
Able to occasionally move equipment weighing up to 20 pounds.
