Description:

Role Specific Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all vessel machinery on their watch, as directed by the Chief Engineer
  • Ensures the preventive maintenance has been done on all machinery, outlined in the vessel maintenance schedule
  • Ensures tools, equipment, parts, and supplies are inventoried, cleaned and organized
  • Completes necessary paperwork (engine room logs, preventative maintenance work orders, supply orders, equipment lists, etc.)
  • Maintains cleanliness of all machinery spaces
  • Compliance with the Safety Management System
  • Compliance with applicable regulations
  • Reports unsafe conditions to your supervisor and take action to prevent accidents
  • Performs additional duties as assigned
Requirements:

Licensing Requirements

  • Possess, at minimum, a DDE 4000 USCG License
  • Knowledge of all vessel systems; hydraulic, pneumatic, electric, diesel, propulsion, and auxiliaries
  • Possess a current Passport
  • Possess a current TWIC
  • Skills with welding and carpentry are preferred
