EMT / Nurse Intern (Assistant Site Director) - Summer Camp Health Coordinator | Giants Baseball & Softball Camps
Giants Baseball & Softball Camps is actively hiring an EMT / Nurse Intern (Assistant Site Director) to serve as the Camp Health Coordinator for our Advanced Camp locations throughout the Bay Area during Summer 2026.
This role combines camper health and safety responsibilities with camp leadership and operations support. The Assistant Site Director works alongside the Camp Director to ensure a safe, organized, and positive experience for campers, families, and staff.
This position is ideal for nursing students, EMT-certified individuals, EMT students, pre-med students, public health students, kinesiology majors, and healthcare professionals seeking hands-on experience working with children in an active outdoor setting.

Compensation & Schedule
Compensation: $25.00/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, approximately 8 hours per day
Camp Dates & Locations
The ideal candidate will be available for all of the following sessions:
  • July 6-10 - Palo Alto, CA (Hoover Park)
  • July 13-17 - Larkspur, CA (Piper Park)
  • July 20-24 - Orinda, CA (Wilder Fields)
  • July 27-31 - San Francisco, CA (Balboa Park)
  • August 3-7 - Larkspur, CA (Piper Park)
  • August 10-14 - Larkspur, CA (Piper Park)

Reliable transportation is required, as this position supports multiple camp locations throughout the Bay Area.
About the Role
The EMT / Nurse Intern serves as the primary health and safety resource at camp while also supporting daily camp operations.
You will help ensure a safe environment for campers ages 10-14 while gaining valuable experience in youth health management, incident response, documentation, communication, and leadership.
Core Responsibilities
Health & Safety
  • Administer basic first aid to campers and staff as needed
  • Manage and maintain camp first aid supplies
  • Monitor campers with allergies, medications, and medical needs
  • Support EpiPen administration and emergency response protocols
  • Conduct basic health assessments and wellness checks
  • Maintain accurate health and incident records
  • Communicate with parents regarding injuries, illnesses, and incidents
  • Assist camp leadership in implementing safety procedures
Camp Leadership & Operations
  • Support the Camp Director with daily camp operations
  • Assist with camper supervision and group management
  • Help maintain a positive and structured camp environment
  • Support attendance tracking and administrative reporting
  • Work with coaches and staff to proactively address camper needs
  • Assist with daily logistics and camp organization
Required Qualifications
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification REQUIRED
  • CPR/AED Certification REQUIRED
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background screening
  • Reliable transportation
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work outdoors throughout the camp day
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced youth sports environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • California EMT Certification
  • EMT student or recent EMT graduate
  • Nursing student or pre-nursing student
  • Public Health student
  • Kinesiology or Sports Medicine student
  • Experience working with children ages 4-14
  • Interest in pediatrics, emergency medicine, sports medicine, nursing, or healthcare leadership

Baseball experience is not required.
