Job description

Assistant Project Manager

StruXure Utah (under D5 Capital Holdings) specializes in premium motorized pergola systems, architectural outdoor structures that transform how homeowners and businesses live and work outside. We operate at the intersection of design, precision fabrication, and skilled installation, and we're growing fast.

About the Role

The Assistant Project Manager supports the Project Manager across the full lifecycle of every StruXure pergola project, from post-sale handoff through final installation and customer sign-off. You'll help bridge sales, Central Services, warehouse, and field crews, taking on scheduling, documentation, and crew communication so the PM can stay focused on the highest-priority work in front of them.

This is a field-heavy, hands-on role built as a development path toward a full Project Manager position. You'll spend meaningful time on job sites alongside crews, while also flexing into coordination, documentation, and occasional shop/warehouse support as business needs shift.

What You'll Do

  • Support the Project Manager in owning project execution end-to-end: kickoff, scheduling, material coordination, installation oversight, and customer close-out.
  • Spend significant time in the field, assisting with jobsite audits, installation oversight, and troubleshooting alongside crews.
  • Provide direct field assistance on installation projects when a job requires an extra hand or doesn't warrant a full crew.
  • Review approved designs, site plans, and dimensional drawings alongside the PM to help validate layouts before work begins.
  • Help coordinate material staging, deliveries, equipment, and crew availability across multiple concurrent jobs.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with Spanish-speaking and English-speaking customers, crew members, and internal team members in both field and shop settings.
  • Assist in sourcing, onboarding, and holding subcontract installation crews to StruXure standards.
  • Track and document change orders, RFIs, and job status accurately in i360 and CompanyCam.
  • Serve as a secondary point of contact for crews during active installations, stepping in when the PM is unavailable.
  • Support close-out documentation coordination with Central Services and Accounting.
  • Flex into warehouse and shop support as needed, including job prep for outgoing installations and organizing returned supplies.
  • Follow all safety protocols across field, warehouse, and shop environments.

What You Bring

Required

  • 1-2+ years of experience in construction, project coordination, outdoor living, or a related field-service/installation role.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a small crew, moving fluidly between field support and coordination tasks.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; able to track multiple jobs simultaneously.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, layouts, and dimensional drawings with growing confidence.
  • Clear, professional communication with customers, crews, and leadership.
  • Comfortable with cloud-based project management tools and mobile technology.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and handle materials and equipment as required for field and warehouse work.
  • Flexibility for occasional after-hours or weekend availability during active installations.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; must pass background check.

Preferred

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English, with strong verbal communication skills in both languages.
  • Prior experience with pergolas, decks, shade structures, or other outdoor living installations.
  • Familiarity with i360, CompanyCam, or similar job-tracking software.
  • Experience supporting Project Managers, installation crews, or warranty/service operations.
  • Background in residential construction or remodeling.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Direct mentorship and a clear growth path toward a full Project Manager role.
  • Hands-on exposure across the full project lifecycle, from sales handoff through customer sign-off.
  • Variety built into the role: field, customer-facing, and coordination work all in one seat.
  • Be part of a growing, premium brand as StruXure Utah scales its installation and service operations.

Compensation

  • $55,000 – $65,000 annual salary
  • Healthcare reimbursement
  • Paid time off
  • Mileage reimbursement
