Job Title: Electrical Superintendent
Job Site: Medford, Massachusetts and various unanticipated client sites
Salary Range: $195,000- $210,000/year
Job Duties: Coordinate with the construction manager, engineers, and various contractors while driving trades to meet schedule deadlines. Responsible for the safe and code compliant installation of electrical equipment and distribution systems in support of clean room manufacturing facility.
Duties Include:
- Maintain subcontractor and trades worker awareness of the dangers of construction and encourage the continuous vigilance in providing a safe work environment for all workers through the promotion of the safety culture.
- Ensure that electrical installations are performed in accordance with master specifications, standard installation details, and NEC codes.
- Assist the Manager in the development of the overall project schedule. Assist in the periodic updating of this schedule throughout the course of construction.
- Coordinate the electrical sub-contractors field superintendent's daily activities to align with the project schedule and priorities.
- Attend weekly work group meetings, review and update the schedule with construction manager, review RFI's, change orders.
- Maintain standards and specs set by client for buyoffs on all phases of electrical system installation.
- Manage the electrical installation in association with other trades to ensure efficient and timely delivery to meet the project's commissioning and startup deliverables.
- Coordinate with the associated vendors to ensure timely installation of electrical distribution and circuits required for manufacturing equipment hookup.
- Coordinate the Pre-Inspection of NEC code compliance, testing and verification of system functions, buyoff's with city and governing authorities.
- Coordinate the startup efforts of electrical equipment including switchgear, panels boards, transformers, and VFD's and ensure all contractor documentation is complete and accurate.
(Will supervise 20 subordinate employees such as Sub-Contractor-Construction managers, Superintendent, Commissioning Technicians.)
Position Requirements: Bachelor's degree (or Foreign Equivalent) in Construction Management, Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Engineering Technology or related field, plus 3 years of experience as an Electrical Inspector, Electrical Commissioning Technician, Commissioning Instrument Technician, Instrument Technician or a related occupation.
In the alternative, employer will accept 5 years of experience as an Electrical Inspector, Electrical Commissioning Technician, Commissioning Instrument Technician, Instrument Technician or a related occupation. Any suitable combination of education, training or experience is acceptable.
Experience may be gained concurrently and must include the following:
- 3 years of experience in instrumentation & electrical.
- 3 years' experience with each of the following equipment & systems:
a. High, medium and low voltage power distribution
b. Substations and Switchgear
c. Transformers
d. Bus Duct and grounding installations
e. Power monitoring systems
f. Panel boards and distribution - 3 years' experience reading one-line electrical diagrams and system drawings.
- 3 years' experience reviewing and validating the correctness of the electrical installations for panels and equipment as it relates to code and specifications.
Must have in-depth knowledge of National Electrical Codes, NFPA70e, and OSHA guidelines surrounding safe construction practices.
