Wage Range: $12.00-13.00/hour
Description of the Position: The St. Olaf Athletic Department is hiring a small team of students experienced in digital storytelling and video marketing. You will assist in generating energizing videos that promote the St. Olaf Athletics brand and provide fans and recruits a look into what it means to be an Ole.
This role requires strong project management skills and the ability to work on deadlines. The ideal team member is someone motivated to learn and execute all stages of the video production process: conceptualizing, filming, and editing content that effectively tells the story of 26 varsity sports programs.
If you are interested in learning more about athletics video content production, apply today! Previous video filming/editing experience is encouraged. Applicants should have their own equipment.
Work hours are project-dependent. This role will focus on non-event related coverage (i.e. "behind the scenes" recruiting video, student-athlete profiles, mic'd up videos, weightroom hype video, social media campaigns, etc.). Ideal candidates will be able to independently see a project through from conception to a final edit.
Transferable Skills: Conceptualizing/shooting/editing, communication skills, ability to work in a team and independently
Duties and Responsibilities: Students will work with the Athletics Creative & Digital Media Strategist to conceptualize, shoot, and edit a variety of videos that promote the St. Olaf Athletics with a focus on social media content.
Qualifications: Familiarity with DSLR/Mirrorless cameras is strongly preferred. Knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro or a similar program is strongly preferred. Ability to conceptualize, shoot, and edit content that adheres to institutional brand standards. Attention to schedule and willingness to arrive on time and stay until work is done. Eagerness to learn and ability to effectively present and communicate new ideas. Strong work ethic, responsibility, and ability to work independently.
