Job description

Provides administrative support to the Family Discipleship and Global Outreach ministries at Prestonwood Baptist Church (“PBC”).

Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to include:
    • Answering and responding to phone calls, emails, and web-based correspondence
    • Scheduling office meetings and appointments
    • Maintaining office inventory and supplies
    • Maintaining the local/global missions and Family Discipleship calendar
    • Receiving and routing incoming and outgoing mail
    • Creating and maintaining historical file retention system 
  • Generate purchase orders, check requests, and other required financial related items and ensure compliance with PBC policies
  • Run required ministry and financial related reports
  • Assist ministry staff in the planning and execution of events, providing outreach, attendance, and announcement information
  • Respond to inquiries from members, attendees and prospects
  • Compose informational materials for distribution
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Growing relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as a member of PBC
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft office software
  • Experience with planning or participating in missions helpful
  • Some college, college degree preferred
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to work independently and maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Ability to work at a desk with a computer screen for extended periods of time, occasionally perform physical activities that require moving one’s whole body, such as walking, stooping, pushing/pulling a cart, and lifting up to 20 pounds without assistance
