The Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Third-Party Risk Management is responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of the standards, processes, management, and oversight of the larger supply chain risks introduced through third-party subcontractors and geopolitical risk exposed by suppliers who provide services from outside of the United States of America to ensure LPL effectively: a) create scalable solutions to document key supplier subcontractors b) Monitor and maintain real time solutions to identify, evaluate, and escalate risks for appropriate resolution c) Validate that contract standards terms are being fulfilled and align with risk standards, d) Evaluating and maintaining geopolitical risk processes associated to locations where work is offshored f) Ensure evolving risks are understood by internal stakeholders e) Conduct exercises to address emerging risks introduces by outsourced providers.
The Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Third-Party Risk Management is responsible for the strategic development, implementation, and oversight of enterprise standards, processes, and frameworks designed to manage risks across the organization's third-party ecosystem. This role ensures comprehensive oversight of supply chain risks arising from subcontractor relationships and geopolitical exposures associated with offshore service providers.
The AVP will ensure LPL effectively:
- Develop scalable solutions to identify, document, and maintain visibility into key subcontractor relationships across third parties used by the Firm.
- Implements real-time monitoring capabilities to proactively identify, assess, and escalate risks introduced by outsourced providers and extended supply chains for timely mitigation and resolution.
- Drives stakeholder awareness, ensuring emerging and evolving third-party risks are clearly communicated and understood across internal business and risk functions.
- Leads risk exercises to strengthen organizational readiness to address emerging threats introduced through outsourced providers and extended supply chains.
This role plays a critical leadership function in safeguarding the organization against operational and regulatory risks embedded within third-party relationships while enabling scalable and resilient supplier management practices.
Responsibilities:
- Operationalize and sustain scalable Nth-party risk capabilities by designing and maintaining solutions that inventory, monitor, assess, and escalate risks associated with offshore activities and subcontractor networks where LPL lacks direct contractual relationships
- Establish and enforce standards, methodologies, and processes to ensure continuous evaluation of subcontractors and jurisdictional risks in countries where services are performed on behalf of LPL.
- Oversee supplier risk intelligence and monitoring programs by managing inventories and leveraging real-time risk monitoring platforms (e.g., Black Kite, Dun & Bradstreet, Moody's, One Trust) to proactively identify and respond to emerging threats.
- Ensure adherence to enterprise policies and governance requirements, providing leadership with timely and transparent reporting on key initiatives, risks, issues, and their potential business impacts.
- Promote a strong risk culture and collaborative environment, fostering open communication to support effective risk identification, assessment, and remediation across the organization.
- Support TPRM governance and regulatory engagement, participating in formal governance forums and partnering with leadership to address internal audits and regulatory examinations.
- Lead and mentor TPRM professionals, providing direction and oversight to teams responsible for executing due diligence, collecting standardized risk artifacts, and conducting targeted risk assessments in response to emerging threats.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in third-party risk management, vendor management, or enterprise risk within a regulated industry
- 5+ years of experience leading teams with direct people management responsibilities
- Experience working with risk monitoring tools or platforms (e.g., Black Kite, Moody's, Dun & Bradstreet, OneTrust)
- Knowledge of third-party risk frameworks, regulatory requirements, and control environments
Key Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge of third-party risk management and the third-party life-cycle, especially within financial services or other highly regulated industries.
- Exceptional relationship management capabilities to deepen trusting, meaningful relationships in a diverse and fluid environment to drive effective outcomes, enforce policies, ensure compliance, and drive necessary actions.
- Understanding of third-party and supply chain risk frameworks, information security practices, risk controls, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of clearly and concisely conveying complex and technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Leadership of cross functional teams, either through direct supervision or as a key influencer.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data or information to proactively provide effective solutions in ambiguous and complex environments.
- Confidence in navigating incomplete information and managing ambiguity in a demanding environment.
- Planning and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail to consistently meet deadlines in fast-paced and ever-changing contexts.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team, take initiative, and deliver concise and relevant analysis to proactively resolve risks and improve processes.
- Highly adaptable, achievement-oriented, and skilled at multitasking, prioritizing, and managing workloads to meet challenging deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrates impeccable integrity, ethical standards, and a strong commitment to excellence, maintaining composure under pressure and fostering a positive demeanor.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required, Advanced degree desirable.
- Minimum of 7+ years Risk Management, Third-Party, or Vendor Management (preferably in Financial Services or other highly regulated industries required).
- 5+ years direct management experience leading teams in complex organizations.
- Relevant Professional Certification such as CISA, CISSP, CTPRP, CTPRA, CVMP, and/or CRVPM highly preferred.

Pay Range:
$104,957.00 - $174,997.00Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
