What We are Looking For
The Assistant Director of Annual Giving serves as the strategic lead for the Baylor University Engagement Center and a portfolio of signature annual giving campaigns, including the Baylor Traditions Ornament Campaign, Calendar Year End, and Fiscal Year End. This position develops and executes integrated fundraising and engagement strategies that leverage the Engagement Center as a key channel for donor engagement, participation, retention, and pipeline development. Working collaboratively across Advancement, the Assistant Director serves as a connector between annual giving campaigns, donor engagement, and student engagement efforts to create coordinated and impactful donor experiences in the call center.
A bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience are required. Three years of relevant experience is preferred.
Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a Full-Time basis.
What You Will Do
  • Lead the planning, execution, and assessment of signature annual giving initiatives, including the Baylor Traditions Ornament Campaign, Calendar Year End, and Fiscal Year End
  • Develop project plans, timelines, segmentation strategies, and performance metrics with intentional integration of the Engagement Center and student ambassadors
  • Partner with Advancement colleagues to ensure campaigns align with institutional priorities and annual giving goals
  • Analyze results and recommend enhancements to improve donor participation, revenue, retention, and engagement
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Baylor University Engagement Center
  • Develop and implement fundraising, engagement, and research strategies utilizing calling, texting, and associated platforms
  • Leverage the Engagement Center as a core component of annual giving efforts, ensuring coordinated messaging, outreach, and donor experiences across campaigns
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Engagement Center operations and broader campus
  • Coordinate with the Engagement Center Manager in recruitment, hiring, training, supervision, retention, and performance management of Engagement Center student ambassadors
  • Coordinate all student employment processes in partnership with Student Financial Aid, including onboarding, payroll, position changes, and terminations
  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures, training materials, and operational standards that support program effectiveness, compliance, and a high-quality student employment experience
  • Partner with the Associate Director of Annual Giving to advance annual donor retention initiatives and reporting
  • Develop year-round opportunities through the Engagement Center that strengthen donor relationships beyond traditional campaign periods
  • Utilize donor feedback and student ambassador interactions to enhance donor experiences, reinforce philanthropic impact, and inform future engagement strategies
  • Develop and maintain campaign and Engagement Center reporting, dashboards, and performance analyses
  • Monitor key metrics related to participation, retention, acquisition, upgrades, and engagement
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Annual Giving, Donor Relations, Advancement Services, and Communications to ensure effective campaign execution and donor engagement strategies
  • Translate data and program outcomes into actionable recommendations that support annual giving goals and continuous improvement
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission
  • Ability to comply with University policies
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
