Assistant Director of Enrollment

As an assistant director of enrollment in SCAD Savannah, you'll encourage right-fit students to join The University for Creative Careers and prepare for the exciting next chapter of their lives. On the admission team, you'll explain the unrivaled resources we offer to prospective students, encouraging them to visit and explore the university for themselves.

To support the university's mission, preparing students for creative professions, you will:
Travel to effectively represent the university to prospective students, while building ongoing professional and institutional relationships; travel includes immediate admission decision appointments, in-person meetings, accepted student celebrations, information sessions, and high-school classroom/guidance visits
Build relationships with prospective students and their guardians by telephone, e-mail, social media, and handwritten correspondence; remain knowledgeable of all university policies and procedures; manage active applicant files
Maintain a daily telephone appointment schedule using Appointment PLUS; handle a large volume of daily incoming calls and e-mails to answer complex questions about university admission policies and financial aid
Represents SCAD at college fairs and conferences, demonstrating professional conduct and compliance with NACAC guidelines; conduct on-ground tours as needed
Operate the management system (Banner/Salesforce) to record and track applicant documents, individual contacts, and other pertinent information; proactively communicate with applicants and admitted students via the communication plan;

As an advocate for prospective students, you will:
Cross-check daily admission reports to ensure data integrity
Encourage submission of portfolios and resumes, and prepare electronic material submissions for scholarship and admission review; prepare transcripts and other academic documentation for transfer evaluation and admission review
Follow up with students who do not enroll to decline files as necessary
Serve as the primary financial aid contact for incoming students and their families to explain the federal aid process; assist with understanding the budget, financial plan, verification process, and balances due; help families navigate the payment plan options and inform them of alternative funding
Maintain a close working relationship with supporting offices, including student financial services, housing, registrar's office, and the office of student success to ensure a smooth and successful enrollment process
Additionally, you will:
Participate in phone-a-thons, Live Person, and online chat sessions to reach students at various points during the admission cycle
Serve as Saturday admission coverage at least four times per year and Sunday admission coverage at Poetter Hall as needed
Participate in all special events
Assist with orientation staff for all quarters, including early fall orientation sessions
Perform other duties as assigned

Ideal candidates will demonstrate:

An ability to work well under pressure, quickly shift focus, and maintain a positive attitude

Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field
Able to work evening and weekends as needed

Preferred qualifications:
Experience with Microsoft Suite

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:
Valid driver's license

Travel required:
10-20%

Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
