Job description

The Mission
At VPL, we modernize pharmacy supply chains to improve patient outcomes.
As the Product Manager for Data Products, you will be responsible for the strategy, execution, and day-to-day management of VPL's reporting and analytics products. You will partner with customers, internal stakeholders, Data Engineering, and a Power BI Developer to transform complex business problems into intuitive reporting and analytics solutions.
Working closely with the Director of Product, you will develop and evolve the product roadmap, translating customer insights, business priorities, and market opportunities into impactful product capabilities. This role is ideal for an experienced Product Manager who enjoys working with data-driven products and understands how to turn customer problems into valuable software solutions. While experience with data products is beneficial, your primary responsibility is leading the product-not building the underlying data architecture or dashboards.
What You'll Do
Own the product backlog and day-to-day execution for VPL's reporting and analytics products.
Develop and maintain the product roadmap for Data Products, partnering with the Director of Product to ensure alignment with company strategy, customer needs, market trends, and engineering capacity.
Prioritize features and enhancements based on customer value, business objectives, technical feasibility, and strategic priorities.
Conduct customer discovery, gather feedback, and identify opportunities for new reporting and analytics capabilities.
Translate customer and business problems into clear product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications.
Partner closely with Data Engineering and a Power BI Developer to deliver intuitive, scalable reporting and analytics solutions.
Collaborate with Engineering, UX, QA, Customer Success, Sales, and other business stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.
Monitor customer feedback, product adoption, and key business metrics to identify opportunities for continuous product improvement.
Support product launches, customer enablement, and ongoing adoption of reporting and analytics capabilities.
Serve as the voice of the customer, ensuring delivered solutions solve meaningful business problems and provide measurable value.
Who You Are
You are an experienced Product Manager who enjoys solving complex business problems and building products customers love.
You know how to build and maintain a product roadmap by balancing customer needs, business priorities, engineering capacity, and market opportunities.
You excel at prioritization and can confidently make tradeoff recommendations based on customer value and strategic impact.
You are skilled at translating customer problems into clear product requirements and actionable engineering work.
You enjoy partnering with Data Engineering and BI development teams to deliver valuable analytics solutions, even if you are not building the technical solution yourself.
You communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
You are collaborative, curious, customer-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Qualifications
Required
3+ years of Product Management experience delivering software products.
Demonstrated experience developing product roadmaps, prioritizing features, and managing a product backlog.
Experience managing customer-facing SaaS or enterprise software products.
Strong understanding of Agile product management methodologies and software development lifecycles.
Experience conducting customer discovery, gathering requirements, and writing user stories and acceptance criteria.
Proven ability to translate complex business problems into clear, actionable product requirements.
Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience collaborating closely with engineering and cross-functional teams to deliver software products.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred
Experience working with reporting, analytics, or data products.
Experience with business intelligence (BI) and data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
Familiarity with cloud data warehouses (such as Snowflake) and basic SQL is helpful for collaborating with engineering and validating product requirements, but hands-on development expertise is not required.
Experience partnering with Data Engineering teams and BI Developers to deliver analytics solutions.
Healthcare technology, specialty pharmacy, health systems, or healthcare SaaS experience.
Why Join VPL?
Drive meaningful product strategy by shaping the future of VPL's reporting and analytics solutions.
Own impactful products used by healthcare organizations to improve operational efficiency and support better patient care.
Partner with talented technical teams, including Data Engineering and Power BI development, to bring innovative solutions to market.
Collaborate directly with customers to understand their challenges and transform their feedback into valuable product capabilities.
Grow your product leadership skills while working alongside experienced product leadership in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Make a real impact by building products that help healthcare organizations make better decisions through data.
