Network Rail Consulting (NRC) is the international consultancy arm of Network Rail – the owner and operator of Britain’s mainline rail system. We have been active in the North American, Australian and the Middle East markets since 2013 and have successfully delivered more than 150 consultancy contracts for government, public and privately owned organizations.

About the Role

NRC supports multiple US clients from our strategic locations in Washington DC, New York City, and Boston, as well as West Coast clients from our offices in California and Seattle.

We are seeking a Data Analyst for our Seattle location.

You will provide support to our internal project teams and our clients to extract, compile, analyze and visualize data to help us make informed decisions that drive improvement in the way that transit assets are managed. Creating impactful PowerPoint presentations is a significant part of the role.

The initial client work will be with Sound Transit and King County Metro staff, focusing on data related to work orders, inventory, training data, and project dashboards.

What will you be doing?
  • Compile data from client systems including Trapeze EAM, Maximo EAM, and various LMS / EAM / ERP systems for training and inventory data.
  • Perform data mapping to support data migration and data conformance evaluation.
  • Develop data definition/dictionaries with SMEs.
  • Develop data standards through partnering with data governance program.
  • Communicate to business on the remediation plan needed and develop plans to support next steps work on data remediation.
  • Develop reference data and taxonomies.
  • Extract and organize data for analysis and trending and compares ERP/EAM Program needs and requirements.
  • Ensure data quality and compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Design and build dashboards in Excel and Power BI for internal and external use.
  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations for internal and external use.
  • Assist the Client, Project Manager or project team as required.
About You

Applicants should be a recent graduate with a bachelor’s or master’s Degree or equivalent in a relevant field.

You are passionate about data and ways that data can tell a story. You have strong analytical and critical thinking skills; strong formal report, presentation and note writing skills, proficiency in spreadsheet manipulation; great attention to detail and communication skills.

  • Highly skilled in Power BI, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communicator and writer
  • Experience in MS Co-Pilot
  • A highly capable visual storyteller that can make data easy to understand
  • An excellent listener that can work independently with clients
  • Experience with EAM / CMMS applications is strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience with ERP / LMS / GIS applications is desirable but not essential.
