Job description

Resident Manager

Pay: $16.00 per hour Job Type: Part-time Schedule: 25 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled

About the Role

At The Salvation Army Thrift Store, your work helps turn donations into funding for programs that support people in our community. Working on 2nd shift or 3rd shift, you'll be responsible for maintaining the integrity, philosophy, and standards of our effective rehabilitation program. This role is crucial in ensuring program compliance while supporting our beneficiaries' recovery journey.

What You'll Do Program Management
  • Maintain safety, security, and order throughout the center during assigned shift.
  • Enforce house rules according to organizational standards.
  • Conduct facility rounds and complete required walk-throughs.
  • Respond to emergencies and incidents according to policy.
  • Monitor residential movement, curfew compliance, and approved pass schedules.
Beneficiary Support
  • Conduct program orientation for new intakes, including tour and review of emergency procedures.
  • Support beneficiaries (residents) in Orientation with Atlas access.
  • Lead house meetings & communicate updates & expectations.
  • Address questions & concerns and refer to leadership as appropriate.
  • Assess and refer spiritual needs as appropriate.
Administrative Duties
  • Participate in intakes when needed.
  • Oversee medication call procedures.
  • Conduct bed checks.
  • Administer breathalyzer or urinalysis tests as required.
  • Oversee work therapy assignments.
  • Provide safe transportation.
  • Support activities as directed.
  • Administrative duties as assigned; including data entry, reports, and trainings.

What You Need

Required Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous managerial experience in residential facility, security, social services, or supervision preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with ability to qualify for Salvation Army insurance

Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to respond effectively and calmly to emergencies and residential issues.
  • Ability to read and interpret program policies and professional materials.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to present information effectively to residents and staff.
  • Ability to identify problems, collect data, and make sound decisions.
  • Basic math skills, including percentages and ratios, for reporting and logging requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, and the ability to create and interpret basic Word and Excel docs.
  • Ability to enter accurate and timely data into electronic system.

Physical Requirements

  • Manual dexterity for computer work
  • Ability to lift/move up to 20 pounds
  • Clear speaking, hearing, and vision abilities

Work Environment

  • Residential program setting
  • May be required to enter warehouse or store areas; closed-toe shoes, rubber-soled shoes required.
  • This position is not a live-in position.
