Civil Service: Yes
Shift Hours: Monday - Friday (8:00am - 5:00pm)
Purpose of this position:
Provides support to the County Engineer, the assistant County Engineer, Flood Plain Administrator, and Plat Coordinator by reviewing engineering plans, drainage reports, plats and providing other assistance when necessary. Also interacts with engineering firms with questions related to subdivision development. This position also responds to inquiries involving land development and flood plain issues from both professionals and the general public.
Education, Experience and Skill Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• Master's degree in engineering preferred.
• 2 years of engineering related experience.
• Texas Engineer in Training Certificate (EIT).
• Application of engineering fundamentals.
  • Must have the ability to work in person - not remote.

Other information:
Primary Job Duties
• Reviews plats, subdivision designs and site development plans.
• Investigates and responds to public complaints on roadway, signals, signs, striping, drainage, and other traffic related issues.
• Participates in Career Development which includes training and continuing education.
• Applies engineering principles, methods and techniques to a wide variety of engineering-related activities.
• Attend meetings on behalf of supervisors.
• Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
After receiving a conditional offer of employment, applicant must pass a drug screen (1/2 cost = $20.00, responsibility of applicant) and may need a physical agility test (1/2 cost = $22.50, responsibility of applicant) before becoming an employee of Montgomery County.
