We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Metallurgical Lab Technician to join our team on a direct hire basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in metallurgical testing, laboratory operations, and material analysis, preferably in the tubular or steel manufacturing industry. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring quality and compliance with industry standards.
Core Responsibilities:
- Perform metallurgical testing on materials and tubular products (tensile, impact, hardness, etc.) in accordance with regulatory and customer specifications.
- Analyze test results and maintain accurate documentation according to company procedures.
- Identify and report nonconforming materials to the Lab Supervisor/Metallurgist.
- Operate and maintain lab equipment, including band saws, surface grinders, mounting/polishing machines, and microscopes.
- Participate in lab improvement initiatives and 5S activities to ensure a safe and organized work environment.
- Assist in training new laboratory technicians on testing procedures and equipment operation.
- Adhere to all safety rules, quality standards, and company policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Quality Manager or Lab Supervisor.
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing or related fields.
