Position Summary

FSRI is seeking an experienced Controller to manage its finance and accounting operations and serve as a key member of the executive team. The Controller will oversee day‑to‑day financial activities, including financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, billing, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll. They will also develop and enhance financial processes and systems to support FSRI’s mission and business objectives in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • MBA or CPA preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles, financial reporting and compliance requirements
  • Commitment to FSRI’s mission, high ethical standards and integrity
  • Strong financial leadership with a hands‑on, tactical work style
  • Success managing month‑end and year‑end close processes and timelines
  • Proficiency in accounting and financial management systems and standard office software
  • Proven experience managing finance teams, mentoring and developing staff
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to explain complex financial information to non‑financial colleagues
  • Skills in building and maintaining positive stakeholder relationships
  • Strong organization, analytical and problem‑solving skills with keen attention to detail
