Job description

Join an innovative organization that operates advanced power generation facilities supporting critical infrastructure. This role is responsible for monitoring and controlling plant operations to ensure safe, environmentally compliant, and efficient power generation. The ideal candidate will have experience operating boiler and turbine systems within a waste-to-energy, biomass, coal-fired, or similar industrial power generation environment and be comfortable working a rotating shift schedule.
Responsibilities:
* Monitor plant operations and emissions data from the control room
* Detect and respond to changing operating conditions to maintain safety, environmental compliance, and plant efficiency
* Optimize boiler combustion, steam generation, and overall plant performance
* Troubleshoot operational issues and coordinate corrective actions as needed
* Lead, guide, and train plant operations personnel as required
* Perform equipment inspections during plant outages
* Support maintenance and operational activities throughout the facility as needed
* Complete operational logs, reports, and related documentation
* Assist with maintaining a safe and productive work environment
Required Skills & Experience:
* Experience as a Control Room Operator, Plant Operator, APO, or similar within a power generation environment
* Coal-fired, Biomass, and/or Waste-to-Energy plant experience
* Strong understanding of boiler, turbine, and steam generation systems
* Ability to monitor and respond to plant operating conditions using control systems
* Knowledge of plant safety and environmental compliance requirements
* Mechanical aptitude sufficient to perform equipment inspections and minor maintenance activities
* Ability to work rotating day and night shifts
Preferred Skills & Experience:
* Experience working with distributed control systems (DCS)
* ASME QRO license or ability to obtain
* Prior experience leading or training plant personnel
