Job description

Location: Williamsburg, VA-Fort Detrick
Salary: $95,000
Required: Secret Clearance

System Administrator

The contractor shall provide Systems Administration support in the maintenance, configuration, and operation of government systems and servers. The contractor shall install new hardware and software; create and manage user accounts; maintain computer systems such as servers; and properly respond to system outages and other various problems. Additional responsibilities include light de-bug or scripting to make the system workflows easier, and training computer users and assistants. The contractor shall resolve problems and issues with the computer and server systems to limit disruptions. The contractor may be called to participate in research and development to improve and to meet the evolving needs of the customer. Systems and servers to be supported will be determined based on the needs of NMRLC-DET. Contractor tasks may also include monitoring actions, such as installation, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting.

Minimum Requirements 

6.3.1.1. Must possess minimum of six (6) years in a System Administrator role.  

6.3.1.2. Must possess Secret Clearance and must meet DoD 8570 requirements.

Job Duties
2.1.1.1. Maintain essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware.
2.1.1.2. Configure and operate mainframe, minicomputer, and/or client/server-based applications.
2.1.1.3. Optimize system operation and resource utilization.
2.1.1.4. Perform systems capacity analysis and planning.
2.1.1.5. Provide assistance to system users in accessing and using applications.
2.1.1.6. Comply with prescribed customer, industry, and agency standards.
2.1.1.7. Nurture dependable and reliable IT systems.
2.1.1.8. Partner with internal and external partners to communicate project status, activities, and achievements.
