Material Handler | $25/Hr | 2nd Shift | San Diego, CA Job Description

Join a global leader in semiconductor technology as a Material Handler supporting the production of advanced computer chip manufacturing equipment. In this role, you will receive, process, move, and track materials throughout the warehouse while helping maintain inventory accuracy and ensuring parts are delivered to the right location on time.

This position combines warehouse operations, inventory control, shipping and receiving, order fulfillment, and computer-based inventory transactions. Candidates with warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, or material handling experience are encouraged to apply.

Schedule:

Training Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM-2:30 PM (approximately 4 weeks)

Regular Schedule: Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM-10:30 PM

  • Overtime available as needed

Responsibilities

  • Receive, verify, and process incoming inventory and materials.
  • Pick, pack, stage, and deliver materials to support production operations.
  • Perform inventory transactions using warehouse and computer systems.
  • Conduct cycle counts and assist with inventory control activities.
  • Audit incoming shipments for accuracy and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Package, label, and prepare materials for shipment.
  • Process material returns to warehouses, suppliers, or vendors as needed.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
  • Load and unload trucks and move materials throughout the facility.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and inventory records.
  • Communicate inventory shortages, quality concerns, and material issues to appropriate teams.
  • Follow established safety, quality, and operational procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and other warehouse activities as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Warehouse operations, material handling, or logistics experience.
  • Inventory control, cycle counting, or inventory management experience.
  • Shipping, receiving, picking, packing, or order fulfillment experience.
  • Forklift and pallet jack experience.
  • Computer skills, including data entry and inventory transactions.
  • Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, or inventory software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical warehouse duties.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience supporting manufacturing or production environments preferred.
  • Experience investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and related software.
  • Experience working with shipping documentation and warehouse systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.

Work Environment

This role is based in a warehouse environment that generally maintains moderate temperature and noise levels. The standard schedule is a 2nd shift, Monday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., with the first four weeks on a 1st shift training schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Overtime may be required as business needs dictate. The position requires regular onsite presence to attend in-person meetings, trainings, and collaborative activities. The work involves frequent sitting, walking, talking, hearing, and using hands for keyboarding, handling, and feeling, as well as stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting, reaching, and stretching. Employees occasionally move around the campus and may lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities needed include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The role requires extended periods working at a computer terminal interspersed with meetings, phone calls, and other communication tasks. Employees use forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand and power tools, and must always work in a safe, professional, and ethical manner.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
