Position Information
Job Title Assistant Coach Nature of Work
Analyzes performance and instructs student athletes in game strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition. Recruit student athletes. Observes players while they perform to determine need for individual or team improvement. Coach players individually or in groups, demonstrating techniques
Examples of Work Performed
Assist with coaching for the Softball program
Provide softball instruction and development for student athletes.
Coordinate all team travel arrangements including Hotels, and Travel meals" in the Examples of work performed
Knowledge of and compliance with all rules and changes that occur in the sport of softball including NCAA rules and regulations
Assist with camps, game, and tournament organization and supervision
Assist with recruiting for the Softball program
Coordinate Chadron State College campus visits for athletes
Knowledge of, and compliance with, NCAA rules and regulations concerning recruiting and eligibility
Coordinate team laundry
Secondary Duties:
Check study halls and classes for athletes' participation
Assist with game operations for all home basketball games
Assist with athletic team and department fundraising initiatives
Related duties as assigned by supervisor
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree plus coaching experience.
Must have knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.

Previous experience coaching softball
Physical Demands License and Certification Requirements
Successful background records and credit check
Valid driver's license
Satisfactory evaluation of driving record
