Job description

Downtown Jacksonville, Florida law firm seeks an enthusiastic, self-motivated full-time in-office Paralegal.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities for Paralegal:
  • Communicate with clients, insurance carriers, other firms, the court, and litigation support vendors
  • Maintain attorney calendar and deadlines
  • Review and summarize medical records
  • Review and summarize medical service billing records
  • Extract relevant information from investigative documents such as police reports, surveillance reports, and government agency records.
  • Prepare files for upcoming depositions, hearings, mediations and trial
  • Handle pleading shells/drafts for attorney review
  • File and serve documents as needed
  • Review court procedures and ensure compliance with specific county and judge rules
  • Performs other duties as necessary.

Requirements:
  • Strong organization and communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Dependable with a respect for confidentiality and policies.
  • Prior legal experience as legal assistant/paralegal in insurance defense strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Requirements:
  • Knowledge of civil litigation procedures.
  • Knowledge of ProLaw software.
