Job description

Senior Civil Designer | Anaheim, CA
IMEG is hiring a Senior Civil Designer in Anaheim, Ontario, Pasadena or Las Vegas to lead design efforts for moderate to complex civil projects and support the delivery of larger, high-complexity work with limited senior staff oversight. In this role, you will work closely with engineers and consultants to provide project direction, engineering solutions, and client guidance that support positive project outcomes. You'll also help lead civil engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight while supporting budget goals, mentoring efforts, and cross-functional collaboration.
Principal Responsibilities
• Lead design efforts for municipal infrastructure analysis and related civil project work
• Perform site assessments and develop detailed analyses and technical reports
• Partner with clients to understand project needs, gather requirements, and communicate technical information clearly
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through professional communication
• Support the design and analysis of civil engineering project features using Autodesk Civil 3D or equivalent tools in accordance with code requirements and IMEG standards
• Provide technical training and mentoring to team members
• Assist with resolving field issues with limited support from senior staff
• Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in civil engineering
• Contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG
• Prioritize safety and regulatory compliance in all aspects of engineering work
• Interpret state and local design criteria and apply requirements to specific project needs
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in project interviews and presentations
Required Qualifications and Skills
• Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required
• 7 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in the civil engineer consulting industry OR
• Associates degree, or certificate, in utilizing Autodesk Civil 3D or equivalent software tools or engineering preferred
• 11 years of experience minimum required, 12 preferred, in the civil engineer consulting or construction industry
• Lead the design and analysis of Civil Engineering project features utilizing Autodesk Civil 3D or equivalent software tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards
• Ability to use and train others in associated Civil Engineering software for modeling traffic analysis, pipe networks, etc. as related to the primary responsibilities of this position
• Advanced proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
• Advanced proficiency in technical and analytical skills related to the Civil Engineering field
• Strong training, mentoring and leadership skills
• Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise
• Ability to sell work and develop client relationships
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Eagerness to adapt to new challenges
• Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays
