Senior Civil Engineer / Civil Project Manager – Houston, TX

Location: Houston, TX
Experience: 5+ Years
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
Licensure: Texas PE required or strongly preferred

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer / Project Manager to join our Houston team. This role is ideal for a 5+ year civil engineering professional with strong experience in land development, site design, drainage, utilities, and project management. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead projects from initial planning and design through construction while working directly with clients, municipalities, and project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of civil engineering projects from concept through construction.
  • Prepare and review plans, specifications, technical reports, and permit documents.
  • Perform and oversee site development, grading, drainage, utility, roadway, and stormwater design.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, scopes, and client communications.
  • Coordinate with architects, surveyors, contractors, municipalities, and other consultants.
  • Review engineering plans and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
  • Assist with permitting and agency coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct quality-control reviews of calculations, drawings, and technical documents.
  • Mentor and provide technical direction to less-experienced engineering staff.
  • Participate in client meetings and contribute to business-development efforts as appropriate.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive civil engineering experience.
  • Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred/required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of civil/site development design principles.
  • Experience with grading, drainage, stormwater, utilities, and/or roadway design.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable Texas and local design standards and permitting requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting deadlines.

Preferred Experience

  • Land development and commercial/residential site design.
  • Stormwater management and drainage design.
  • Municipal infrastructure projects.
  • Experience working with Houston-area municipalities and Harris County requirements.
