Job description

The Chiller Technician will be providing chiller service work throughout Macon and surrounding areas, and reports to the Service Manager. The HVAC Chiller Mechanic services commercial HVAC and related equipment. Service may include preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair/replacement of commercial HVAC equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and test systems for proper operation
  • Determine customer concerns
  • Follow standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area
  • Discuss system malfunctions with customers to isolate problems or verify resolution
  • Maintain all types of chillers, various compressor technologies, chiller control systems, and speed drives.
  • Use of cutting edge software and technology, along with a variety of hand-tools, rigging equipment, following blueprints or engineering specifications, to diagnose and repair equipment.
  • Work with large Chillers, Cooling Towers, Pumps, and other HVAC Equipment
  • Record and report faults, deficiencies, and other unusual occurrences, as well as the time and materials expended on work orders
  • Coordinate with repair and maintenance teams to assist in other work
  • Generate work orders that address deficiencies in need of correction
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • 5 years' of chiller experience, with knowledge of maintenance procedures, trouble shooting, and rebuilds of medium-large tonnage chillers of all brands.
  • EPA Certification
  • A valid driver's license

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
This position is a largely a physically active role. Field technicians will regularly push and pull heavy loads, climb, crouch, and maneuver around obstacles to gain position in order to service HVAC equipment.
Work Environment
This job operates in a field environment. Must be able to withstand wide temperature variations as a portion of the work is outside. Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
