Job description

Shape a child's earliest learning experiences.

We're always looking to connect with passionate educators who want to build meaningful careers in Montessori education across Downtown Chicago and the Illinois Suburbs.

Whether you're just beginning your journey or brining years of classroom experience, we're excited to meet educators who are passionate about helping children grow and thrive.
Our opportunities include Lead Guide and Assistant Guide roles serving children from infancy through age six. We provide the support, training, and professional growth to help you build a rewarding career in Montessori education while making a meaningful impact on children's lives.

Your Impact

As a Guide (Teacher), you'll either Lead or support a mixed-age Montessori classroom in our Infant, Toddler, and Children's House (ages 3-6) programs.
You'll help create a calm, engaging environment where children develop independence, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning. Through thoughtful observation, meaningful relationships, and beautifully prepared classrooms, you'll help each child grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

What You'll Do

  • Lead or support a mixed-age Montessori classroom
  • Observe children closely to understand and support their individual development
  • Prepare and maintain a beautiful, orderly classroom learning environment
  • Foster independence through respectful guidance and encouragement
  • Build strong partnerships with families
  • Collaborate with fellow team members to create a positive classroom community

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working with young children in a preschool, childcare, daycare or school setting
  • A passion for early childhood education and child development
  • A collaborative, adaptable, and positive mindset
  • Interest in learning the Montessori approach (prior Montessori experience is welcomed but not required)
  • Required ECE or Child Development credits, where applicable
  • Interest in pursuing our fully sponsored Montessori diploma through the Prepared Montessorian Institute

What We Offer

Whether you're launching your career or bringing years of experience to the classroom, we're committed to helping you continue learning and growing as an educator.

  • Fully sponsored Montessori diploma training through the Prepared Montessorian Institute (PMI)
  • Ongoing coaching, mentorship, and professional development to help you grow throughout your career
  • Clear pathways for career advancement, from Assistant Guide to Lead Guide and school leadership opportunities
  • 75% tuition discount for up to two children at any Guidepost Montessori school
  • Competitive pay based on your experience, education, and role
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid time off and paid holidays
  • A collaborative community of educators committed to continuous learning and excellence
