Chevron is one of the world's leading energy companies, with approximately 60,000 employees working in countries around the world. We explore, produce and transport crude oil and natural gas; refine, market and distribute fuels and other energy products; manufacture and sell petrochemical products; generate power; and develop future energy resources, including biofuels and geothermal energy.
Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a high-energy professional who is customer-focused with sound business acumen and problem-solving skills to join our dynamic organization as a Waterborne Scheduler. Ideal candidates should be natural team players, eager to learn and grow, and have an eye for innovation and continuous improvement.
Schedulers are responsible for transport, delivery, and storage of clean products and specialty refined commodities across downstream operations. This role is critical for optimizing product flow by coordinating marine and terminal logistics, ensuring that materials meet compliance requirements, quality, safety, and commercial objectives. The scheduler works closely with refining, trading, shipping, optimization, commercial, and loss control teams, as well as external partners such as terminals, inspection companies, and third-party customers.
Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities for Schedulers include:
  • Lead day-to-day scheduling and operations for commercial teams, including activities such as loading/discharging, quality control, loss prevention and forecasting analysis
  • Manage nominations for marine orders to/from both 3rd party and internal customers; monitor and execute clean products movements
  • Commercial Support: Partner with destination terminals to manage physical inventory positions and recommend load/discharge activity based on production schedules
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain strong relationships and communication with internal teams and external industry experts
  • Operational Optimization: Monitor marine and terminal operations to optimize schedules and track pipeline, truck, rail, and other mode of transport movements as required
  • Digital Innovation: Analyze data and generate digital reports as required for the commercial team to identify opportunities to improve processes and ways of working
  • Cost and Performance Reporting: Collaborate on operational costs, optimization initiatives, and share best practices.
  • Champion incident-free operations and continuous improvements
  • After Hours Availability: Be available for on-call scheduling during evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Additional Duties
  • Support Commercial Groups: Assist in evaluating the economics and viability of business opportunities by presenting alternative valuation viewpoints and incorporating logistical, operational, and market intelligence.
  • Continuous Improvement: Engage in process improvements, cross-training, and relief scheduling as needed.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with safety and performance standards and participate in incident investigations and reporting.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in marine logistics, preferably in energy, manufacturing, transportation, or supply chain environments.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at various organizational levels and with external partners.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and blending software; familiarity with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and SAP or Right-Angle is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; experience in refined product commodities, crude, or gas trading operations is advantageous.

Industry Context
Clean Product market operations are complex and require balancing product specifications, evolving market demand, and operational efficiency across supply and demand value chains. Commercial and scheduling teams must effectively manage logistics, optimize production and distribution decisions, and adapt quickly to changing market conditions, regulatory requirements, and operational constraints.
