Chemical Engineer II - Arkema Calvert City, KY

Job Summary

Arkema is seeking a Chemical Engineer II to join our team at the Calvert City, Kentucky site. This position plays a vital role in supporting process technology, driving improvements in safety, reliability, and quality, and contributing to the implementation of major capital and process improvement projects. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic manufacturing environment, demonstrates strong technical problemsolving skills, and works effectively across operations, technical, and engineering teams. Minimal travel is required.

Key Responsibilities

- Support design, execution, and implementation of major capital projects to optimize and expand plant processes

- Lead and recommend process improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, reliability, and product quality

- Provide daily technical support to production units and troubleshoot process issues

- Maintain and support Process Safety Management (PSM) elements, including MOCs, process safety information, work instructions, and JSAs

- Assist with plant production trials and coordinate with operations and corporate technical teams

- Investigate and resolve issues related to existing processes using structured problem-solving approaches

Required Qualifications / Education / Technical & Behavioral Skills

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical preferred)

- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a PSM-regulated chemical manufacturing environment

- Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and independently

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to innovate and develop original solutions to technical challenges

Preferred Qualifications

- Six Sigma Green Belt certification or active pursuit
