Mission: DaVinci Academy of Arts and Science will awaken a passion for learning through an enriched and individualized approach to education. Students, parents and teachers will work together to ensure positive character development and build a strong foundation for higher education.
POSITION TITLE: Food Service Assistant, PT (On-Call Substitute)
REPORTS TO: Food Service and Recess Coordinator
Position Objective: To serve school meals that align with State and Federal Nutrition and health-code guidelines, as it aligns with the mission, vision, pillars of DaVinci Academy. Also assist other Food Service, Lunch Monitors, dishwashing, and Point of Sales.
Principal Responsibilities:
  • Keep information pertaining to students and school business confidential
  • Interact with staff and students in a courteous, professional and respectful manner
  • Responsible for knowing and following the safety rules and proper procedure associated with Food Service Department
  • Assemble and serve lunch meals
  • Ensure that all food and milk is held at appropriate temperatures
  • Complete all required temperature control logs and required food production records
  • Wash dishes throughout serving periods; sweep and mop floors
  • Participate in required training; 6 hours per school year, per state requirements
  • Following the DaVinci Academy PBIS program, utilize positive strategies to ensure students are orderly and behaving appropriately
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Dress Code:
  • Casual attire can be worn, but must be clean and appropriate; no tank tops, or short shorts/skirts
  • Wear comfortable, non-slip closed toed shoes
  • Hair must be pulled back and off shoulders at all times.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to learn new computer programs quickly
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Communicate effectively with adults and students
  • Willing and able to stay current with all local, state and federal food service and health code regulations and guidelines
  • Be prompt, organized, and have the ability to multitask
  • Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work at a fast pace, talk or hear, stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Work is performed in the lunchroom with moderate noise level.

Position Information:
  • Hourly Pay Range: $17-$21 per hour
  • Hours: 9:45 AM - 2:45 PM
  • Duty Days: dependent on need
  • Time Off: 1 hour of ESST for every 30 hours worked.
  • Not Benefits Eligible
  • School Year Start Date: August 10, 2026
