What you'll do:

As Chief Financial Officer, you are a strategic partner to the CEO and part of the Senior Leadership Team, responsible for shaping and executing North Central Co-op's financial strategy while leading key enterprise functions. You will oversee Finance & Administration, Asset Protection, and Information Technology, ensuring financial strength, operational excellence, and risk stewardship across the organization. 

  • Lead the financial stewardship of the Co-op, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cost management, financial reporting, tax, and compliance.
  • Partner with the CEO and Senior Leadership Team on short- and long-term strategic planning, enterprise decision-making, and policy development.
  • Develop and execute North Central Co-op's financial strategy, including capital planning, investments, and merger or acquisition activity.
  • Provide financial insight and economic analysis on matters of significant impact, including pricing, cash flow, capital additions, and competitive trends.
  • Anticipate business risks and opportunities, ensuring strong financial controls, and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead NCC's Enterprise Risk Management strategy by overseeing risk processes, ensuring compliance, and promoting a culture of proactive risk awareness across the organization.
  • Lead and develop high-performing teams across Finance & Administration, Asset Protection, and I.T.
  • Collaborate within the Co-operative Retailing System (CRS) to ensure alignment and best practices.
  • Support governance and Board reporting within the Co-op's governance structure.

Regular travel to North Central Co-op locations is required to enable connection with teams and locations.

Who you are: 

You are a seasoned, values-driven executive who brings both strategic vision and operational discipline, as well as the following:

  • Degree, preferably in Business or Finance
  • CPA designation is a requirement
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible finance experience, including 8+ years in senior leadership roles
  • Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and work effectively with Boards and executive leadership
  • Confidence with public speaking, presenting to different audiences and engaging with individuals across our association and externally
