The Assistant Cda Credential is an entry-level certification for those supporting early childhood education, while the Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential is a more comprehensive certification that qualifies individuals to serve as lead teachers. The CDA credential involves more extensive coursework, experience, and a portfolio review, making it a higher-level credential for professional advancement in early childhood education.

How much do you get paid for having a CDA?

Assistant CDA credential holders typically earn between $12 and $20 per hour, depending on experience, location, and the employer. Salaries can vary based on the setting, such as childcare centers or preschools, and additional certifications or skills may influence pay rates.

Is an assistant CDA credential worth it?

An assistant CDA credential can enhance job prospects in early childhood education by demonstrating foundational skills and commitment. It often serves as a stepping stone toward higher certifications or roles requiring more responsibility, and may improve employability and earning potential in childcare settings.

What jobs can you get with an assistant CDA credential?

An assistant CDA credential qualifies individuals for entry-level positions in early childhood education, such as preschool teacher assistant, childcare provider, or daycare assistant. These roles typically involve supporting lead teachers, implementing curriculum, and ensuring a safe, nurturing environment for children. The credential demonstrates foundational knowledge of child development and caregiving skills, often required for working in licensed childcare settings.
