Job description

Description:

DT Assembler/Finishers are responsible for construction and quality of a core and coil assembly, associated tank procedures, prep tank cover, insert unit, and installation and connection of internal and external accessories. This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.

Essential Functions:

· Knowledge of how to read and work from mechanical and electrical drawings

· Operate forklift and/or spot for forklift driver

· Assist in assembly of woodwork

· Assist cable cutter in stacking of cut lead cables into storage baskets

· Apply epoxy on core limbs with paint brush

· Clean tooling by hand wiping with cleaners

· Cover product with plastic to prevent contamination

· Move empty material carts from department to department

· Sort and count bolts, rods, and hardware

· Hook up transformers to lift lugs under direction of experience employee

· Assist in loading and unloading parts from forklifts, trucks, and pallets

· Chalking of tanks

· Standing fire watch on welding operations with proper instruction

· Prepare tank and cover

· Install and connect internal and external accessories and adjust to proper clearance

· Process unit for testing and prepare for shipping

· Keep work area safe, neat, and clean

· Hot oil systems

· Vacuum pumps

· Scaffolding

Requirements:

The physical demands of this job include, but are not limited to, standing for long periods, occasionally lifting up to 60 pounds, required to walk, sit, use hands, fingers, and arms, reach with hands and arms, climb ladders, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. The employee must also be able to see in close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Job requires a moderate to heavy level of physical effort and being elevated to heights exceeding thirty feet.

Work Environment: Workers are exposed to an environment without temperature control for heat or cold.

Safety Requirements: Safety requirements for an DT Assembler/Finisher include steel-toed boots, gloves (both general & cut), safety glasses, and a harness.
