Job description

SUMMARY:
Seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior IT Software Engineer to join our team, focusing on the development and maintenance of internal general software as well as Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs). The ideal candidate will spend a portion of their time on the factory floor, working directly with our robotics team, and the remainder in an office setting. This role is an entry point for a professional passionate about a career in robotics, automation, and general software development

Key Responsibilities

For software development and maintenance you will work with senior software engineers to develop test and deploy software, write clean efficient and well documented code in languages such as C plus plus and Python, assist in troubleshooting debugging and resolving software issues, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the codebase including bug fixes feature enhancements and performance optimizations.

For robot operations and support you will assist in the setup calibration and commissioning of new Autonomous Mobile Robots and robotic work, document field issues and provide feedback to the development team to improve the system, and monitor robot performance while collecting data and addressing real time operational issues.

For system integration and office support you will support the integration of general software and robot software development with other factory systems, conduct manual and automated testing of software updates in both simulation and physical environments, and assist in the development of tools for data analysis and system monitoring.

Qualifications

Education requirements include a Bachelors degree in Computer Science Software Engineering Robotics or a related technical field. Prior internship or project experience with robotics or autonomous systems is beneficial along with certificates of validation for ROS and cloud platforms.

Required experience includes working with robotics frameworks such as ROS, familiarity with industrial automation concepts, experience with Linux operating systems, and knowledge of simulation tools.

Required skills include fundamental knowledge of C plus plus and Python, a basic understanding of the software development lifecycle, strong analytical problem solving and diagnostic skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team oriented environment and adapt to a dynamic mixed environment across factory and office settings.

Working Conditions and Document Details

Working conditions consist primarily of a factory environment alongside an office setting, light travel to affiliate locations up to ten percent, and on call availability for critical issues.
