The Lithium Battery Product Sales Engineer will be responsible to drive the commercial and technical integration of Lithium power solutions across the North American dealer network. This position will act as a liaison between dealers-end users and the Sales, Engineering, Product Support & Technical Support departments. The Lithium Battery Product Specialist is responsible for supporting the development, application, and commercialization of lithium-ion battery solutions across our product line. This role serves as a critical bridge between Sales, Technical Support and Engineering, effectively acting as a “translator” who can speak the language of the dealer and customer while communicating complex technical requirements, capabilities, and constraints to engineering teams.

Essential Duties:

Commercial Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary subject matter expert for lithium-ion battery systems within the organization.
  • Maintain the TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) model used by the sales team.
  • Provide expert quoting support for non-standard battery/charger configurations.
  • Develop "Competitive Displacement" guides (e.g., Clark Lithium vs. Lead-Acid vs. Competitor X).
  • Support product development efforts by collaborating with Engineering on battery integration, performance optimization, and system compatibility.
  •  Assist Sales, dealers, and customers with product selection, application guidance, and technical support to drive lithium-ion adoption and increase market share.
  • Lead or support training initiatives for internal teams and dealer networks on lithium battery technology, safety, and best practices.
  • Analyze field performance, customer feedback, and warranty data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, regulatory, and environmental standards related to lithium-ion batteries.
  • Support cost reduction and value engineering initiatives related to battery systems and components.
  •  Contribute to product strategy, roadmap planning, and competitive analysis.

Technical Responsibilities

  • Act as the final internal escalation point (Tier 2.5) for lithium-ion battery-related issues prior to Engineering involvement.
  • Review and ensure accuracy of all operator and service manuals material related to lithium batteries and chargers.
  • Validate all Learning Management System (LMS) technical content to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with current product offerings.
  • Oversee Battery Diagnostic Laboratory testing protocols, ensuring standardized processes, accurate data collection, and meaningful analysis.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Product Management, and Service teams to resolve issues and improve product performance.
  • Provide technical guidance on lithium system applications, integration, and performance optimization.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Growth in lithium market share across the North American dealer network
  • Improvement in Quote-to-Order conversion rates for lithium solutions
  • Reduction in “No Fault Found” warranty returns.
  • Increased dealer adoption and engagement with lithium products
  • Accuracy and effectiveness of technical training and LMS content

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Systems preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • 3-7 years of experience in battery technology, electrification, or material handling equipment.
  • Strong understanding of lithium battery systems, BMS (Battery Management Systems), and charging technologies.
  • Proven ability to operate as a cross-functional “translator” between technical and commercial teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate technical information into practical business solutions.
  • Strong/Proven analytical skills.
  • Strong computer skills including PowerPoint and Excel
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven, strong project management and organizational skills necessary.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow through on multiple projects and tasks at one time.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. indefinitely without sponsorship
