Description
Seasonal employee that performs a variety of tasks in support of any one of several Parks and Recreation Facilities, Department functional programs, Athletic programs. Employees in this position will work days, nights and weekends as required.
Job Domains
MAJOR DUTIES
  • Assist in setting up for program activities.
  • Maintain facilities and equipment, and perform unskilled clerical work and other duties relating to conducting programs.
  • Assist staff by making needed equipment available and monitoring use.
  • Assist in maintaining order in compliance with established rules.
  • Assists during program registration and try-outs.
  • Keeps score/time at athletic events.
  • Assist with collection of uniforms and assist with care of equipment.
  • Picks up trash, clean bathrooms, empty trash cans, sweep and mop facilities.
  • Assists with special programs, events, tournaments.
  • Forwards official scorebook to the athletic supervisor/athletic coordinator.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

SUPERVISORY CONTROLS
The assigned Supervisor or Coordinator assigns work in terms of somewhat general instructions. The before mentioned spot-checks completed work for compliance with instructions and establishes procedures, accuracy, and the nature and propriety of the final results.

  • Guidelines include City and department policies and procedures. These guidelines are generally clear and specific but may require some interpretation in application.

  • Responsible for a variety of task in support of any one of several parks and recreation facilities.

  • Contacts are typically with coworkers, other city personnel, participants, and the general public.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Frequently required to walk, stand, talk, and hear.
  • Ability to perform work in a sedentary position for long periods of time, however may be required to perform non-strenuous activities on an intermittent basis that may require, bending, stooping, reaching, and climbing steps or ladders.
  • Ability to lift and or move up to 25lbs.
  • Ability to work outside in various weather conditions including heat and/or cold.

  • Knowledge of coordination and planning process in accordance with EPRD guidelines.

  • Knowledge of baseball, football, volleyball, and basketball fundamentals and any other sport assigned to.
  • Must be available and willing to work weekends and holidays as the City determines are necessary or desirable to meet its operational needs.

Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to be work nonstandard hours, nights, holidays and weekends as needed.
  • Possess a valid Alabama driver's license.
  • Must meet City of Enterprise physical standards which include drug and alcohol testing.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age and adhere to the Alabama Child Labor Law.
