Job description

Title: 7th Grade Assistant Boys' Basketball Coach

Reports To: Athletic Director & 7th Grade Boys' Basketball Head Coach


General Responsibilities:

Position is responsible for assisting the head coach with organizing the boys' middle school basketball program for Beech Grove City Schools. This position will assist with conducting practices, motivating students, and instructing student-athletes in game strategies and techniques.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Effectively communicate with a diverse group of athletes, coaches, and parents.
  • Help teach fundamental basketball skills and techniques. 
  • Assist in organizing and implementing effective practice sessions to develop individual and team skills. 
  • Help develop essential life skills and positive character.
  • Establish and maintain a safe and healthy environment for team members.
  • Assist in the monitoring of academic progress of team members.
  • Always represent the school and community in a positive light.
  • Support the head coach in the implementation of his vision and goals for the Beech Grove Middle School Basketball Program.


Qualifications:

  • Past playing experience preferred
  • Past coaching experience preferred
  • High School Diploma or Equivalency
