Job description

What We're Looking For:
Barge Design Solutions is seeking a Traffic Engineer. This role will support traffic engineering projects, document development and design, and perform other related tasks. Works on multiple small projects with few complex features as a technical lead or portions of larger conventional projects.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist in project scope and budget development, as well as assisting in project design and traffic engineering.
  • Supports PM providing technical leadership on conventional projects.
  • Designs experiments, interprets, and develops conclusions on complex data.
  • Writes and reviews engineer specifications, documents, drawings, etc. to produce various deliverables.
  • Designs a component, or process on a complex project or designs to complete a project, systems, or components on conventional projects.
  • Responsible for completing a subset of project documents.
  • Participate in client meetings, as appropriate.
  • Conducts on-site visits to monitor progress of projects.
  • Performs other duties as requested.

Education & Experience Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from accredited program. Minimum of 6 or more years of engineering experience.
  • Registered PE.
  • Applies practical knowledge acquired through progressive experience to resolve issues.
  • Strong working knowledge of Auto Cad, Micro station, Synchro, Sidra, and other essential equipment for field and office work.
  • Keeps informed of new methods and developments affecting the organization.
  • Please note: we will accept applications for this position from applicants that do not have a PE but do have at least 10 years of experience in traffic operations; with the understanding that the applicant will likely be hired as a Traffic Specialist and not an Engineer.
